This Saturday, April 5th from 10am - noon, the Siuslaw Chapter is hosting our annual Spring Estuary Cleanup! We have a lot vested in protecting our local beaches and ocean environment, and we understand that especially with water quality and marine debris, that work starts upstream. Connecting stewardship in our watersheds to that on our beaches is something we've worked hard to instill in our members and volunteers.
We hope you'll join us this Saturday. Meet at the Port of Siuslaw boat ramp next to Bridgeport Market or check in at the Mapleton location at the Caffeination Station. Bring your kayak, boat or even your stand-up paddle board to get out on the water and access some of the more remote stretches, or our volunteers at check-in will help you find a suitable location to access from the shore within a short walk or drive from check in. Wear sturdy shoes, waterproof boots or waders encouraged, bring your own work gloves and a bucket if you like (we'll also have some gloves and bags if you need them). We hope to see you there!
